Two-way SMS for business, from one shared number
Two-way SMS for business lets your team text customers from a computer or phone and read their replies in the same place. In Karya Falak, texts arrive in the shared inbox beside email and web form messages, every reply shows who sent it, and each conversation becomes a job card. SMS is an add-on with an Australian number for A$19 a month, with message costs passed on at what the carrier charges.
Why texting still matters
Every customer has SMS. There is no app to install and nothing to sign up for, and older customers often prefer it. A text is also hard to miss, which is why it suits reminders and arrival times.
What doesn’t work is texting from personal mobiles. The office can’t see what was said, and the customer ends up with five numbers for one business.

What you can do with SMS in Karya Falak
- Send and receive texts on an Australian number that belongs to the business.
- Reply from the shared inbox, with the customer’s history beside the thread.
- Send pictures as picture messages (MMS).
- Use saved replies that fill in the customer’s first name.
- Send an On my way or Running late text from a visit in the Karya Falak Field app for iPhone and Android, with the arrival time filled in.
- Remind customers the day before a visit, if you switch reminders on.
- Send a quote link, or an invoice with how to pay, by text from the card.
- Send a thank-you or a review request after the job is done.
One number for the whole team
Texts go to and from one business number, not someone’s own mobile. Anyone in the office team can reply, the thread shows who sent each text, and when someone leaves, the conversations stay with the business.
Texts become cards on your board the same way emails do, so a "can you come Thursday?" turns straight into a job you can quote, book and invoice. See how the job board works.
Opt-outs handled properly
The Spam Act 2003 sets rules for commercial electronic messages, including SMS. Karya Falak builds the opt-out side in:
- A reply of STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT or OPT OUT opts the person out of SMS and WhatsApp from your business.
- START, UNSTOP, YES or SUBSCRIBE opts them back in. A "stop by tomorrow?" is not treated as an opt-out.
- An owner can add "Reply STOP to opt out." to outgoing texts. It is added once per conversation every 30 days.
- The line is off until an owner switches it on. If you send marketing texts, switch it on or include your own way to opt out.
- Messages to an opted-out number are refused before they reach the carrier.

Questions
Do I get my own number?
Yes. The text messaging add-on comes with an Australian number for sending and receiving.
Can customers reply to texts?
Yes. Replies land in the shared inbox on the same conversation, and the card on your board updates.
Do I need "Reply STOP" on every text?
The Spam Act requires a way to unsubscribe from commercial messages. Karya Falak can add the line for you, and honours STOP replies either way. If you are unsure whether your messages count as commercial, check the Act or get advice.
Can my crew send On my way texts?
Yes, from the Field app. Tapping On my way on a visit sends a text with the first name of the person coming and the arrival time, and a customer can be set to get no On my way texts. The Field app runs on iPhone and Android.
Which plans can add SMS?
Both. The text messaging add-on works with Starter and Growth, and texts land in the same inbox as email, WhatsApp and web form messages.
