A field app for tradies: the job, in your crew’s pocket
Karya Falak Field is the field app for tradies and the people who do the work. It shows today’s visits in order, every job on a map, how to get in before they arrive, and sends On my way in one tap. It keeps working with no signal. The app is free for your team; field members, the people who use only the app, are A$9 a month each. It runs on iPhone and Android.
Your day, in order
Open the app and today’s visits are listed with the time, the customer, the suburb and how far away each one is. Tomorrow and the rest of the fortnight are underneath. Tap a visit for the job, the site and the notes from the office.
The map shows the day’s visits as numbered pins. Tap one to open the job or get directions in your usual maps app.
Know how to get in
Gate codes, parking, where the key is, pets and hazards are written once by the office and shown before your crew knock. No more ringing the office from the driveway.
On my way, from your business
Tap On my way, pick an arrival time, and the customer hears from your business on the conversation the job came from, not from a personal phone. Running late? One more tap sends the new time. Messages use the worker’s first name only, and they can be turned off for any customer who does not want them.
Arrived and finished are stamped with the time, so the office knows where the day is up to and labour can become invoice lines. See job costing.
Finish the job properly
- Work through the job’s checklist and job forms.
- Add notes for the office.
- Take photos and get the customer’s signature to finish.
- Mark the visit done. If you allow it, the app then offers Invoice now; a repeating visit set to bill per visit makes its draft invoice by itself.
Quote and get paid on site, if you allow it
Four switches decide what each field member can do with money: see prices, write a quote from your price book for the customer to sign on the phone, invoice at the end of the visit, and take payment by showing the pay link as a QR code, sending it to the customer, or recording cash or a bank transfer for the office to confirm. A field lead starts with all four on, a field worker with none until you turn them on, and a subcontractor never gets them.
Works with no signal
Basements, new estates and country jobs often have no reception. Everything your crew does in the app is kept on the phone and sent the moment it is back online, in the right order, once.
Private by design
Location is read only while the app is open, to show distances and stamp arrival. If your business turns on live On my way links, the customer sees the worker’s first name and a position rounded to about 100 metres, only while they are on the way with the app open, and it stops on arrival or after two hours. Nothing runs in the background, and there is no all-day location.
Who pays for what
The app itself costs nothing. Owners, admins and office staff can use it at no extra charge. A field member, someone who only sees their own jobs in the app, is A$9 a month on either plan and takes none of Starter’s 10 office seats. During the 14-day trial, field members are free. See pricing.
On iPhone, Android and the browser
The Karya Falak Field app runs on iPhone and Android. Field members work only in the app: if they sign in to Karya Falak in a browser, it points them to the Field app. Owners, admins and office staff can use Karya Falak in a phone browser and add it to the home screen. The office books visits on the team Calendar, and they appear in the app.
Questions
Do field members see prices or other jobs?
A field member sees only the visits they are on, not the rest of the board or other people’s jobs. Prices show only if See prices is on for them, which a field lead has by default. Your costs and margins never reach the app.
Does the app track my staff?
No. Location is read only while the app is open. A live On my way link, if you turn it on, shares an approximate position only on the way to a job and stops on arrival.
Is there an Android version?
Yes. The Karya Falak Field app runs on iPhone and Android. Owners and office staff can also use Karya Falak in a phone browser.
What if my crew have no reception?
The app keeps working. Notes, ticks, photos and stamps are stored on the phone and sent when it reconnects.
