Comparison

Tradify vs Fergus

Tradify vs Fergus is a choice between two trade job management apps with a lot in common: large Australian followings, 14-day trials with no card, iPhone and Android apps, and Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks links. The main difference is focus. Fergus links with more than 100 Australian suppliers such as Reece and Tradelink, offers Tap to Pay, and takes deposits when a quote is accepted. Tradify has clear per-user pricing, quote options, Google Calendar sync and free one-on-one training and phone support. Pick Fergus if materials drive your jobs, and Tradify if you want simple pricing and training. Checked 30 October 2026.

Pricing

Tradify’s pricing is easy to read: a price per user per month, ex GST. With GST, Pro is A$57.20 a user, so a team of four on Pro pays A$228.80 a month.

Fergus’s Australian pricing page shows Essentials from $53 a month and Professional from $77, with cheaper user types for staff who only record time and for contractors paid by the day. The page does not say whether the plan price is per user or whether GST is included, and a 90% off offer runs until December. Ask Fergus for a written quote for your team at the full price so you can compare like with like.

Materials and suppliers

If your jobs are materials-heavy, as in plumbing, electrical or HVAC work, this is Fergus’s clearest advantage. It syncs with more than 100 Australian suppliers, including Reece and Tradelink, so prices and supplier invoices can flow into your jobs. We did not find supplier links on the Tradify pages we checked.

Quotes, enquiries and getting paid

Both let customers accept quotes online. Tradify’s Pro plan adds quote options, so a customer can pick between choices. Fergus lets a customer accept a quote and go straight to paying a deposit.

For enquiries, Tradify offers a web form or a personalised enquiries email address. Fergus has an enquiry form you can put on your website or Facebook page, which feeds an Enquiries list.

For payments, Tradify charges 1.9% plus 30c, GST inclusive, with Amex at 3.7% plus 30c. Fergus Pay, built on Stripe Connect, charges 1.95% plus 30c and adds Tap to Pay on iPhone or Android for payment on site.

Texting

Tradify texts cost 20c each on top of the subscription and cover quotes, invoices, appointments and overdue payments; they are not available on trial. Fergus sells SMS alerts and reminders at $15 for 100 texts, about 15c each, and offers two-way texting with customers and staff through its SMS integration.

Accounting and apps

On accounting the two are level. Tradify syncs with Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks Online on every plan, and Fergus connects to Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB on both of its main plans. Both run on iPhone and Android, so a mixed crew is covered either way.

If you are deciding between them for a crew who will use the app all day, ask each for a trial login for one or two technicians and run real jobs for a week. The 14-day trials make that easy, and neither asks for a card.

Support and training

Tradify offers free one-on-one training and phone support, which matters if your team is new to job software. Fergus offers free local support by phone, live chat and email across Australia and New Zealand. Fergus also markets AI assistants for admin work.

Which to choose

  • Choose Fergus if you buy a lot of materials from Reece, Tradelink or other Australian suppliers, want Tap to Pay, or want deposits taken when a quote is accepted.
  • Choose Tradify if you want clear per-user pricing, quote options, Google Calendar sync and free training on the phone.
  • Either way, check the full price after any offer, and whether GST is included.
  • Ask how texts are charged once your volume grows: 20c each on Tradify, or packs of 100 on Fergus.
  • If you employ contractors by the day, ask Fergus about its daily contractor users, which can cost less than a full user.
  • Comparing more widely? See Tradify vs ServiceM8 and our buyer’s guide.

And Karya Falak

We make Karya Falak, an Australian option built around the customer conversation rather than materials. Enquiries arrive in a shared inbox and become cards on a board, with WhatsApp and SMS in the same inbox. Pricing is per business, GST included: Starter is A$49 a month for up to 10 office people, plus A$9 for each field member. It is newer, and has no supplier links, no tap to pay, no MYOB and no built-in AI. See Karya Falak vs Tradify and Karya Falak vs Fergus.
